BRIEF

Removal of an existing covered area to the rear to provide an extension to accommodate a much needed kitchen (the existing grade II listed property had no kitchen!)

DESIGN

The modern extension encompassed the same space as the existing covered area, with a flat profiled GRP roof laid to fall in the same direction as the existing roof to maintain no views of it from the street scene. A concealed box gutter was designed to pick up any surface water and taken down a new rain water pipe into the existing gulley. Extra light floods the new kitchen space with the use of roof lights. The internal space was limited so the overall design of the kitchen was key to make sure it had all the mod cons and a small breakfast bar but was functionable and made the most of the space available.
